WHAT: Election Day for the 2026 Primary Election
WHEN: Tuesday, August 18, 2026, Polls are open 7:00 AM–7:00 PM. Any voter in line by 7:00 PM will be permitted to vote.
WHERE: Voters must vote at their assigned Election Day polling location. Some polling locations have changed — voters are strongly encouraged to confirm their assigned polling place before heading out using the interactive polling-place tool at VoteSeminole.gov.

REMINDERS FOR VOTERS
Polling Locations
- Voters must report to their assigned Election Day polling location. Because some Seminole County polling locations have changed for this election, voters should verify their location before leaving home using the Elections Office’s interactive polling-place tool at VoteSeminole.gov.
- Voters should bring a current and valid photo and signature ID
- There is NO voting at the Supervisor of Elections Office, 1500 E. Airport Blvd., Sanford, on Election Day.
What’s on the Ballot
- There is something for every Seminole County voter on the ballot, regardless of party affiliation.
- While Florida’s Primary Election determines party nominees for partisan offices, all voters may vote in applicable nonpartisan contests. Important local races on the ballot include Sanford Mayor, School Board and judicial races.
Vote-by-Mail
- Vote-by-Mail ballots cannot be returned to Election Day polling locations. They must be received at the Supervisor of Elections Office by 7:00 PM on Election Day. Postmarks do not count.
- However, voters may bring their Vote-by-Mail ballot to their assigned polling location and surrender it to vote an Election Day ballot instead. Voters who want to use their mail ballot as a reference should take a photo of it before arriving, as the ballot cannot be taken into the voting booth.
- Voters who have not returned their Vote-by-Mail ballot may still vote in person on Election Day.
- Voters can track their Vote-by-Mail ballot at VoteSeminole.gov.
Election Day Turnout & Wait Times
- Real-time voter turnout and Election Day voter information will be available at VoteSeminole.gov throughout the day.
ELECTION NIGHT RESULTS
- Election results will begin posting at VoteSeminole.gov/liveresults after polls close at 7:00 PM.
- Initial Election Night results are expected to include ballots tabulated prior to Election Day, including Vote-by-Mail and Early Voting ballots. Election Day precinct results will be added as polling locations close out and results are transmitted to the Elections Office.
- Results posted on Election Night are unofficial until the election is certified.
MEDIA GUIDELINES
- Members of the media are welcome to cover Election Day activity, but must ensure their presence does not interfere with voting or compromise voter privacy or ballot secrecy.
- Media representatives planning to photograph, record video or conduct interviews at or near a polling location are encouraged to coordinate with the Seminole County Supervisor of Elections Office.
- The Elections Office can assist media outlets with identifying polling locations and opportunities for Election Day visuals, including voters arriving, poll workers and voting equipment.
- Campaigning and solicitation are prohibited within the150-foot no-solicitation zonesurrounding polling-place entrances and secured ballot intake stations, as provided by Florida law.
- There is not photography permitted inside the polling locations. Media should not photograph or record a voter’s marked ballot, voters’ personal identification or signatures, or otherwise compromise the secrecy of a voter’s selections.
MEDIA AVAILABILITY
- Seminole County Supervisor of Elections Amy Pennock will be available for media interviews throughout Election Day, beginning at 6:00 AM and continuing through the posting of the final unofficial Election Night results.
