New Drive-Thru Vote-by-Mail Ballot Drop-Off Debuts at Supervisor of Elections Office

SANFORD, Fla. (August 7, 2026) — Early Voting for the August 18 Primary Election begins Saturday, August 8, giving Seminole County voters eight days to cast their ballot before Election Day.

Early Voting will be available August 8 through August 15, from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. daily, at seven convenient locations throughout Seminole County. Registered voters may cast their ballot at any Early Voting location, regardless of their assigned Election Day polling place.

This election also marks the debut of a new convenience for Vote-By-Mail voters. For the first time, the Seminole County Supervisor of Elections is offering Drive-Thru Vote-By-Mail Ballot Drop-Off during Early Voting at the elections office located at 1500 E. Airport Boulevard in Sanford.

The new service allows voters to return their completed, sealed, and signed Vote-By-Mail ballot without leaving their vehicle.

A Secure Ballot Intake Stationwill be located outside the Supervisor of Elections Office, where voters can drive up and insert their ballot directly into the secure container.

Election staff will be on hand at all times to monitor the secure ballot intake station and answer any questions.

“Our mission is to make voting convenient, secure and accessible for every voter,” said Seminole County Supervisor of Elections Amy Pennock. “Whether you’re voting early in person or returning your Vote-by-Mail ballot through our new drive-thru option, we encourage voters to take advantage of these convenient opportunities before Election Day.”

In addition to the new drive-thru service, voters may also return their completed *and signed* Vote-by-Mail ballot to secure ballot intake stations located inside any Early Voting location.

Vote-by-Mail ballots cannot be returned to polling places on Election Day. Ballots must be received at the Supervisor of Elections Office no later than 7:00 p.m. on Election Day to be counted. Postmarks do not count.

What to Bring

Florida law requires voters casting a ballot in person to present a valid photo and signature ID. Acceptable forms include:

• Florida driver license
• Florida identification card issued by the Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles
• U.S. passport or passport card
• Debit or credit card
• Military identification
• Student identification
• Retirement center identification
• Neighborhood association identification
• Public assistance identification
• Veteran Health Identification Card
• Florida concealed weapon or firearm license
• Employee identification card issued by any branch, department, agency or entity of the federal government, the State of Florida, a county or a municipality

If the photo ID does not contain the voter’s signature, an additional form of identification with the voter’s signature is required.

Voters are also encouraged to review and bring their marked sample ballot with them to the polls. Having a completed sample ballot in hand can help voters cast their vote confidently and efficiently. Official sample ballots are available online by visiting VoteSeminole.gov and selecting “What’s On My Ballot?” Voters may also access their personalized voter information through My Voter Record.
